World of Warcraft
On October 9th 2005, 'RICE Inc' on Frostmane was disbanded and our time in World of Warcraft comes to a close. Over the course of the past few months, many original Rice and the founding members of our WoW division had quit for various reasons. Neeks_Rice played a major role in the management of raids but had burned himself out in the process. Jc_Rice took over and did an outstanding job. However, in the end, Jc had to leave the WoW guild because of the daily headaches that came with his duties. Many of the other officers of RICE had similar feelings. Soon it was only Mace_Rice and Eagle_Rice holding things together. It was decided by consensus that it was better to disband 'RICE Inc' rather than let things continue to deteriorate. There had been a great deal of conflict and drama regarding loot distribution and progress in raid instances. After RICE was able to farm MC, there seemed to be a lack of motivation from many of the guild members to progress and become better. There weren't enough people willing to try to clear BWL and advance the guild. This problem largely stemmed from a difference in ideology between our core members and some of the members recruited for the WoW division.
We made our foray into the World of Warcraft too late; when we were still forming and building up in December of 2004, many of the more hardcore players had already been picked by Vicious Cycle, First Generation, and other guilds. RICE was forced to recruit some people that wouldn't have otherwise have been invited to the guild, simply because of different goals for playing the game and outlook on how the game should be played. Usually when RICE enters a game, our goal is to become the best in that game. Some of our WoW division recruits simply didn't have the same drive. This isn't a blanket statement by any means and we did have many many awesome recruits. Although the guild was plagued with many problems towards the end of our time on Frostmane, RICE did well in World of Warcraft. RICE was always recognized as one of the top guilds with some of the best pvp players (IB, Sopro, Longitude) on the server. Eagle_Rice (Ironbox) has created a PVP guild called 'Run For Your Life' which houses many of the core Rice members that decided to stick around in WoW for a while longer. The remainder of 'RICE Inc' have reformed into a new guild called Reloaded and we wish them good luck.
