World of Warcraft
On August 20th 2005, after previously wiping on Ragnaros at 12%, we zoned into MC knowing this was the day Ragnaros will die. Everyone was a bit tense and the pressure was high. We got there and buffed up, leaving no buff unbuffed. Ragnaros was summoned and he towered over us but the mighty Shadowlaw stood his ground and took his beating. Everyone went all out and managed to stay alive for the most part, until Raganaros retreated and summoned his sons to attack us. We moved together and battled the sons, the tanks and rogues holding the sons in place while the DPS all assisted and killed them quickly one by one. We moved back into position as Rag re-emerged and began our assault again. Rag's health ticked down as we furiously assaulted him and he finally fell before us defeated. After the victory, Atma dressed up (http://www.ricegamers.com/news/2005/08.20/atma_pirate.jpg) like a pirate and celebrated. This was certainly a bigger achievement than anything RICE has done before in WoW. Defeating Ragnaros (http://www.ricegamers.com/news/2005/08.20/ragnaros_down.jpg) truly required the combined effort of the entire guild (http://www.ricegamers.com/news/2005/08.20/ragnaros.jpg); everyone that helped farm for ingredients for potions and fire resist gear contributed greatly to this victory.
