This is the quest that you do for a hatchling. There are three kinds of hatchlings: Star, Wind, and Twilight. Star is high in defense, Wind is high in attack, and Twilight eats less food.
Step 1
Go to Giran and get the quest from Pet Manager Cooper. He will tell you to talk to someone in Hunters Village. Run up to Hunters and talk to the Wiseman/Sage Chronos. If you enter Hunters Village from the west, he is around the middle on your right side. Pick the regular fairystone quest because you cannot do the deluxe one.
Step 2
Go to Cruma and collect 10 toad backskins by killing Toad Lords. They are all around Cruma tower and the drop rate is crap. Coff and I had to kill almost 30 to get what we needed. Then go to Dion and talk to Maria (quest spells it as Mayra or something) and bring with you: 10 charcoal, 10 coals, 3 silver nuggets, one gemstone D. She is located in a corner of the Dion magic shop; I suggest finding your materials somewhere other than Dion because everyone wants it there and coal is selling for 1000a now.
Step 3
Go back to Hunters Village and talk to Chronos again; he will direct to you talk to guard Byron at the south gate. Byron tells you to go to The Enchanted Valley and find a fairy. The fairy Mymyu can be found at the north end of the valley. Mymyu tells you to find a drake and gives you a choice of several.

Step 4
We went and found Drake Zwov by following the river dividing Giran from Oren. Just go west along the river and you will find him off to the side. Zwov directed us back to Cruma again to kill Marsh Spiders for eggs. You have to collect 20 eggs and the drop rate is slightly better than backskins.

Step 5
Take your 20 eggs back to the Drake and you get one to keep as your prize. Almost done now. Go back to Mymyu and she will hatch the egg for you and give you a flute. You use the flute to summon the hatchling. Coff and I both got hatchings of the wind. Supposedly, the type of hatchling you get is random, but just in case you really want a Hatchling of the Wind, you know what we did to get it.
